Alright! my car is running, insured, safe, and almost registered, I just need to get emissions! Will cutting out the bottom of the air box make my car fail the emissions test? I also have injector cleaner in a full tank of 91 octane? What are your thoughts and experiences with this? I'm in Arizona, if that makes a difference.

Simple solution.

Get a second box from a parts yard and cut that bad boy up AFTER you pass emissions.I have had mine like this for years, and unless you really pay attention, or are looking for definate modification to the box, its unnoticeable.Gotta love the poor mans intake.

First off what motor do you have? Have you tired to pass emmissions at all? Why would you cut the bottom of your intake box out?Normally KA's pass with no problem...and SR's also pass with a lot of tweaking.

all you need to do is cut the side of the box off with a dremel, the side that faces the fender, its beneath the filter, and will pull a crap load more air than the bottom

i mean a CAI, they pass dont they?

I live in louisiana, and my car passed open 3" downpipe, and illegal tint. The guy said this thing is turbocharged? Sweet! Gotta love LA, nobody cares about air quality. Only thing they will fail you for is an obd2 code.
