I have a 1996 Nissan Maxima GLE that wont start. I have replaced the following;

starter
front crank sensor ( the one by the trans)
crank sensor
cam sensor
mass air flow sensor
spark plugs
ignition switch
battery

I also had it tested by one of the guys at autozone he was nice enough to come to my house and test it since I live so close to the store. The only code that it gave me was for a bad O2 sensor, nothing else. I don't know what else can I do, it wont give me any codes and I have replaced many things. I have spark, I have gas (fuel pump works fine), I have good compression, I don't know what else to do, it will crank and crank all day but it wont start. and I don't want to be cranking too much because I don't want to have to replace the starter again. HELP PLEASE....

Are you positive that the timing is correct? Also, take a multimeter and check battery voltage at the battery before, and while, cranking.

How do you know you have fuel at the engine? Have you pulled the fuel rail to see if the injectors are spraying?

Have you followed the Factory Service Manual instructions for a 'no start' condition yet?

Let's go through those first. http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/nissan ... nuals.html

yes timing is correct. I don't have a multimeter but the battery is less than a week old. yes I removed the rail and when tested plenty of gas.

Have you checked your fuses? Also you could get the big ones tested in autozone.

How is your timing? I've been off by a tooth and barely noticed. It took the 'screwdriver test' in the cylinder to achieve true TCD before I learned that the exhaust cam was off a tad bit.

Next- are you 180'd out on the distributor? Take the #1 and #4 plug wires at the cap and switch them around.

Don't forget to check your fuel pressure, too. "Plenty of gas" might be too damn much to get a start!

Also, have you replaced the 02 sensor? Try checking your idle switch and any cylinder head temp sensors if you have them...

thank you for all your post first of all. yes I have checked and done everything you guys have suggested and still now luck. I just had it checked again and I have spark but it's very weak, I checked all the grounds and they are good. O2 sensor has been changed so now I have no codes at all.
