:help Well good news, I'm getting a complete RB20 motorset with everything except intercooler and clutch this Monday. $900 plus $100 for my buddy to go pick it up for me with his truck.

Anyway, I thought about the driveshaft issue, and I know the stock KA is supposed to bolt right up, but I have an auto trans, so didn't know if anyone had info about whether or not it might still work or if it would be the wrong length..etc.

I have a J30 LSD which I think already made the driveshaft a little tighter than usual by like .5" I think.

Thanks! Let me know if you have any good info!

Hello,

I have the auto rb20det transmission. I HAD to get a custom driveshaft made as the stock KA driveshaft was too long. Its gunna be even longer with that j30 vlsd.

The auto rb transmission is a few inches longer than the auto ka transmission so that is why u need a new shorter driveshaft. I just got a one piece made for $220 at a local driveshaft place.

I forgot to add I'm gonna use the manual rb20 transmission.

Yeah, There's an aluminum unit for $400, but I don't think I wanna spend that much! I guess I'll just have to keep an eye out.

Sooo what's different here from the auto to manual? Is it the rear or front sections? Is the auto too long?

I'm pricing them out on car-part.com and I can choose front or rear sections, and if I choose rear, I choose ABS or NO ABS.

All I know is I have rb20 manual trans and j30 lsd in my S14 and I need a new driveshaft...heh.

Any help?

Thanks,Nick
