I was looking on Ebay and came across a trailer hitch made to fit the versa's.......I dont plan on towing ANYTHING, but it would be nice to use for a hitch mounted cargo holder to add stuff for vacations....But i thought i heard somewhere that adding a trailer hitch to a Versa would void the warranty ?? Anyone know for sure.? Once again, i would never ever tow any kind of trailer with the car, just use it for a cargo carrier or bike carrier something like that.....thanks!

I'd be curious to see how it mounts... The rear suspension / subframe isn't designed to attach anything, really...

But the answer is no, nothing will void your warranty unless the underwriter can prove that the installed part led to the failure of a covered component.

I think a roof rack would make more sense tho.

I agree I would rather go with a roof rack but then im looking at around 300-400 bucks by the time a get a system and roofbag or cargo carrier..............Here is the hitch is saw....It has instructions with the auction, i could get one of these and a cargo carrier for about 200 bucks so im just trying to go the most affordable way i can but Not going to do anything that would void warranty

Nodes, that rack looks great on your car, How do you like it? Any leaks around the doors, or doors hit the metal clips ? I can only find info on Thule racks I really like them but have some Yakima acessories i would like to use but cant find much info on the yakima rack system for a sedan.....any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Dealer said he had issues with the Yakima racks so they ordered the Thule for me, it is heavy duty.

It was a simple install as long as you have a helping hand. I have no issues with leaks. The metal pieces are covered with rubber. I had bad wind noise till I got the fairing for the front, which I had to but separate but well worth it.

Shorside......I looked into those Highland racks too, but their website says they dont fit cars with wide door frames, it specifically mentions the Versa...........So i dont think that will work.
