will a z32 TT ignitor chip work on an RB25DET?

i have a S1 rb25, can't find an rb25 ignitor chip anywhere, will a z32 TT or maybe maxima ignitor work? thanks

A Z32 igniter will work, just requires some re-configuring of the pins on the two harnesses that go to it since they use a different firing order.

I suggest you consult your shop manual on the specifics, since I dont remember off the top of my head

the 25 uses the same style as the updated z32 ignitor/j30 ignitor/maxima ignitor...soooo it should be aplug and play deal, unless you have a rb25 s1 that uses the older rectangular ignitors in which case follow my writeup for the repinning procedure.

Searching for an igniter chip for an RB26, I found this thread. I followed the link to Carl H's writeup which stats this conversion can be used for any RB motor. Is that the case?

Sure would be nice to be able to order the part I need to convert right from the local Nissan dealer.

if the car had an existing 'updated' 2bolt ignitor then the newer z32 ignitor is a plug and play deal, if it has the older square 4 bolt ignitior it will have to be retrofitted for the new style.not hard 15 min worth of work.
