Will A USDM Gauge CLuster Harness Work W/ JDM Cluster?

May have found a deal on a JDM gauge cluster, however the unit comes w/ a cut harness. I have a HUD unit, but if I can get a USDM cluster harness, can I plug that into the JDM cluster and get it to work?

yes you can if the jdm one is HUD as well. I think the HUD in usdm has a different harness from that of the analog usdm. What you can do though, is switch the tach from the JDM into your USDM cluster (if you're running an SR now). For the speedometer, take the speed sensor from your KA transmission and put that into your SR transmission.

Oops. I meant will a analog USDM harness operate an analog JDM cluster? And I have a KA24DE now, but will be dong a SR swap in the next 4-5 months.

If you want to use the entire JDM cluster you will need to either re-wire the USDM one or get a JDM one uncut. You can also remove the tach and speedo ( screws on back of cluster ) and swap them into your USDM one. The circuit pattern is differnt on the JDM clusters.

Damn. Ok, thanks. The cluser I found had the harness cut just before the plug that connects it to the main dash harness, and I really don't want to try and splice all that together. Looks like I am back to hunting...

heres a question thats a bit different... i have a sohc... can i use the jdm cluster ? no right... so... i either have to...

use the usdm tach in the jdm cluster... or...

use the jdm speedometer in the usdm cluster...

main thing i thought was cool was it had red needles... and i think itll be fun driving in kph... im already started to getting used to the kph... hehe

jdm analog cluster plugs into usdm analog cluster. I'd use the usdm cluster and put the jdm tach in that case (granted you swap the speed sensor on the transmission). You can do it either way as long as you replace the speed sensor to match the speedo on the transmission.

got the cluster today... i just needed the tripmeter really... bc mine is broken... and bc that doesnt work the odometer doesnt work... but now i have the entire cluster...

i think im just gonna use the speedometer... ill save the tach for another time since i dont/cant use it

btw... the needles arent red =(... i thought they would be
