I believe the KA was used in the hard body. I have the slave cylinder from one on my 90 240. Another thing i had to replace fast. This car has given me hell. If you look at a hard body the engine is identical. I'll bet tuned different, but esentually the same

You have stolen my idea. I have a perfectly good stock s13 de. I wanted to put it, the transmission, and the entire rear suspension in the truck. Yes, I said it. I want to build a truck that handles. Grip driving is starting to really catch on here, after drag racing has gotten old and all the Hondas have been wrecked from e-brake drifts at Wal-Mart. I want to lower the truck to help the CoG, and use my Tokico and Tein package from my DD. I think with a little work, I could have a fun, reliable truck to play and maybe win a little money.

I was thinking about an early 90's hardbody. I have never really looked under one, but with a welder and a little time, you can do anything. I had a 91 Toyota pickup once; I tried everything to keep the rear in check through the turns. I simply could not keep it stable. I have also considered buying a very old Datsun truck, simply because retro is cool. Imagine if you will a fully independent Datsun with a 175hp KA. There would be chaos in the sport truck community. Most of the sport trucks here are Chevrolets; a mix of full size and the S-10. There are a few V8 Dakotas, but they primarily focus on the 1/8. I want a truck that will keep up with my s13 on a curvy road. Within 15 miles of my house, there are over 20 roads at least 5 miles in length with no straight shots. Grip driving has literally exploded.

uhh, i dont really think trying 2 grip with a truck is a good idea, the weight ratio of trucks will probably give really bad oversteer, IMO

yes it will fit, but there are problems to work around. the S13/S14 have a front slump oil pan. and the D21 has a rear slump pan. the locaton of the dizzy and well as the oil pump is differant. the pullys are all differant as well. and then you have to work on the ecm and wireing. if the truck had a nap-z engine( low pressure tbi system ) than you will need a fuel pump and tank for a ka truck. All of this can be worked around given a little time and money.

For the same reason that S13 owner change to a sr20, or a ka24de or a ka24e-t; to get more power, or they have one so why not, and so on.

sil80dreamer if you what to do this go look for so info. in the mini-truck scene.

if you take the engine out of a 240 and put it into a truck, i am almost positive the transmission has to go with it. I found this out when i was going to put a truck ka24e into my 240, it doesn't even come close to mating with the s13 transmission. Every bolthole is different. I am pretty sure the reverse (what you are doing) will be the same.

The ka24de is a truck motor. Thats why everyone hates them. But i love them b/c the sr's are so common.
