I can get my hands on a freshly JWT tuned ecu out of a 1995 240sx for fairly cheap. Would it work on my 1997? All the specifications are the same (ie, turbo, injectors, exhaust ect...) Anybody think this may or may not work?

Thanks

and yes, I searched

1995 was still OBD 1 and 96 97 and 98 were OBD 2, most likely you will need a tuned OBD 2 ecu.

That is inccorrect. they were obd1 in 95 but still had the obd2 ecu. obd 1 ecus had a white connector and the obd2 had a blue one.. or the other way around lol.. dont remember at this moment .Talk to ben from jim wolf. he will answer you questions but i wondered the same and he verified. I am using a 96 obd2 ecu in my 95 and no problems. However let it be said that the wiring is a lil diff but nothing you cant remedy with a little soldering and a wiring diagram. Its basic stuff not even needed unless its your daily (ac etc.).

You should be good, the s14 harnesses were ALMOST all OBD2 compliant harnesses. Should be plug and play.

Did they make a running change halfway through the 95 model year? Because my 95 does NOT have a standard OBD2 connector, it has the old style Nissan Consult connector like an OBD1 Nissan would have, although it does have dual O2 sensors and a few other OBD2-ish bits, which is why I ask I suppose.

Off memory you can, just have to switch 3 or 4wires off the main harness. And you have to run a 95 02 sensor I believe..check Jim wolf's technology website they should have the info about 95ecu into 96-98.

I use a 95 OBD1 harness in my s14. Its got the single wire O2 sensor, ect. Iv used both OBD2 s14 ECU's and S13 ecu's with a conversion harness.
