Will a brake sensor mess with the transmision?

My car will not shift past third gear in an automatic. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be? I have already had the TRANS replaced about 4 years ago ? PLEASE HELP

IF your lazy then drive to the local auto parts store and see if its throwing codes. jack the car up and check the harness sounds like you might have a wire lose. Check the connections and make sure they are not shorted out. Nissan's have small wires for the harness so its easy to have a short.

Trying not to sound too obvious but is the overdrive button enganged?

OD is just a 4th gear, better ratio for gas mileage. You would want to turn it off to 'gear down' for going up hills that you don't want the transmission to shift back and forth.

Also sometime for going at 30mph or so, so that it doesn't shift too much as well.
