I am starting to buy parts for my ka24et turbo setup, And I will be running at 4-4.5 psi, I wil be running the safc, and I am wondering will the blow off valve blow off at this low boost? Also should I buy CA injectors?

Not to keep this going but its

How much air could a bov blow if a bov could blow air.

Ohh and question:

Is a bosch BOV worth a crap? they are like $30

Right now I have none...

not to threadjack, but i noticed that i can hear my bov even if i do not boost and let off the gas. ex: i take off slowly and shift before the boost gauge gets to positive pressure, and i can sometimes hear the bov. also, when i rev it up in N the gauge will not go past 0 but i can hear the bov. just wondering if someone could explain that one to me.

The turbo is providing air at this point, but the motor is sucking more air in than the turbo is putting out. When you close the throttle, the motor immediately starts ingesting a significantly smaller amount of air. Meanwhile the turbo is still going to push air into the intake pipe. So as soon as you close the throttle, pressure starts to build in the intake and thus the BOV opens. If you were to get your boost gauge signal from your intercooler piping, you'ld be able to see this. Most only check manifold pressure, so the positve pressure in the intercooler piping is not seen on the gauge.

I just got a Supra MKIV stock BOV, the guys at supra forums say they can holdup to 20 psi. It's metal (not plastic like Bosh), it looks somewhat similar to the 1G, but the inlet and outlet are both on the sides, not bottom inlet and side outlet like the 1G. I'm not going to be boosting past 10, so even for me it's slight overkill, but can't beat 20 bucks per BOV. Also, I hate how the1G guys think their BOVs are the ****, and jack the prices way up on ebay. If they think their BOV is so good, they shouldn't be selling it, otherwise we all know it's BS. A crushed 1G can hold up to 30 or so psi. Same goes for MKIV BOVs, some use two of them in sequence, to maximize air flow.
