Will a 97 Auto Trans fit a 95?

Posting for a buddy of mine, Will a 97 Nissan maxima Auto transmission fit in a 95 maxima with no problems? There both 3.0 and I don't see a reason why they wouldn't but just wanted to confirm it before we bought.
