Gentlment (and Ladies)I just bought my first Q from a dealer in Alabama. To make a long story short, I needed a car to commute in style, but on my way back to Destin FL, the transmission burned up. Got one installed from Japan direct and I'm hoping to return the car to its former glory--but first i need some tunes, so I'm asking you for help as to whether a '93 antenna and motor will work in my '94 q45. It still has all of the stock Bose radio equipment. Thanks in advance!!

PS I've seen people willing to email copies of the '94 FSM. If that is possible, I would truly be eternally grateful!! Thanks

Babyboy

I'm pretty sure they are all the same 90-96, but someone with the parts lookup software should be here soon (Wes) to tell you for sure. Is your antenna completely missing, or just a broken mast? The masts are available separately - but sometimes you do need to replace the whole motor if parts of the old one get stuck in there...

Good Luck and Welcome to NICO!

Sorry guys....still lurking around even though I don't own my Q anymore and have to say a hello to my "Niceville" dude. I graduated from Niceville High School in 91. If you are looking for a good shop to do the work, please give this guy a try…McLeod's Auto Repair on Racetrack Rd across the street from a TomThumb and diagonal from Choctaw High School….ask to speak with Chad (the tall dude). He is probably the most honest and reasonable person to help you out with your Q in that area. Also tell him about the NICO discount from Joe @ Everything Infiniti when ordering parts. He has seen & driven my old Q a couple of times and was very impressed and also he was the last one who installed the 4.08 that worked out and did not blow up. His shop is a smaller shop, but he likes it that way as he is the owner and can go at his own pace paying attention to details, etc. We grew up together and he comes from a very long history of family mechanics as it is in their blood line. I so much wish either lived back there again or he lived down here as that way my car repairs would be much easier to deal with. Tell him Rob from Miami sent ya and he will hook ya up. He has done numerous engine swaps, etc.

Btw…did you buy your Q from Jim Burke of Mobile, AL? My parents bought 2 cars from them 93 J30T & 97 I30T as this is when I was first introduced to the Infiniti brand and remember drouling over the Q45 in 93 on the showroom floor….then in 98 I ended buying my 95 Q45 slightly used.

Cheers….Rob
