Just bought a 94 vert from Az with 84K, but it needs a rear seat. I have a line on s14's for the front but I am curious as to what would fit on the rear. Will anything from 91-94 240sx fit?

I'm not sure how nuts I am going to get with this car for now because my budget is fixed. I had a heavily modified 94 SER I sold a few years back, and I would love for this car to end up similar one day. My brothers have 240 coupes (89 with SR20DET , and 97 with RB25DET) and I am learning about the convertibles now. So I have some knowledge on these cars but not the conv stuff.

My car also could use a top and carpet and I see that it is sold on ebay. Are those parts to be avoided or are they quality parts? What does a good carpet and top cost and where should I be looking to get one?

Thanks,

Will

No.

Well... if i recall correctly, the bottom half might fit... but the top half is narrower on the vert, and also uses a different kind of clip.

You might be able to modify the seat to cut it down, and use the fasteners from the vert seat?

Someone else should verify... but the top half is NOT a direct bolt in... im still not 100% positive on the bottom. Hope that's somewhat helpful.

I'm off to go start my 5spd swap! PEACE!

The vertical section of the 'vert rear seat is more narrow than any other 240sx version due to the structural changes needed for the convertible top and safety additions.

People have retrofitted S13 and S14 rear seat parts to fit. It involves removing the upholstery, trimming the foam, cutting some of the supports and frame, then rebuilding the upholstery to get it tight over the now more narrow filling.

It's not an easy job, but it can be done.

My advice... search for someone parting out a 'vert or just dumping there rear seat, then buy one used, then get it re-upholstered.

nobody has formalized the process, it's a very very rare occasion that someone would do it. So you'll have to ask around and find a local shop willing to do a custom job for you.

Greg "Hitman" managed to fit some leather s14 seats in his vert if i recall correctly he said it was not worth the trouble and he does not recommend anyone go through it..

Might want to ask him to see what he did.

Good Luck.

P.S. save your self the trouble and find a vert rear seat and have it reupholstered

I've got both rear seat pieces in good condition. You'd have to come get them from akron, OH though. Free, I just want it out of the garage.
