Just as the title says I was wondering if an 18x8 +40 wheel will clear my Z brakes. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Depends on spoke design. Most common aftermarket wheels will not clear. The 16x6.5" +40 S14 SE alloys will clear 30mm Z32 brakes.Use the search button for SE alloys, or similar searches...

Nothing we sell at the Rack will clear in 40mm.

Brake clearance is determined by spoke design, not offset.

However, shock clearance is determined by offset and I doubt 18x8 +40 would even clear the shock in the unlikely event that they clear the brakes

18x8 +30 Z33 wheels clear Zbrakes and coilovers with 225/40-18. (25.10"diameter)You'd need to find a wheel with the ideal spoke design though, such as the OEM S14 SE or G35 or Z33 wheel.

The aftermarket will be saturated soon with spoke designs to clear big brake kits, because of the demand for wheels to put on evo, Z33, G35 and others with big brembo kits like the sti.

Soon they'll be everywhere...

My first 240SX came with 18x7.5 +42... the tire had clearanced itself on the strut.

Any Offset over +35 is the suck and should not be on a 240SX.

Trendy dialogue about a specific offset sucking is not really in keeping with our attitude.

S14 SE alloy is +40 and they clear the biggest oem Z32 brakes. They are absolute stealth mode. They are easy to clean. They are readily available. They are priced better than any aftermarket wheel. They look just right on an s13.They are 16" which means 205/55-16 in R compound is available!
