Will a 245/50-17 fit stock 17's without rubbing?

I have a 2007 Altima 3.5SE, stock wheels, stock springs. How wide can I go without rubbing?

Searched for about 10 min and didn't see any related posts.

It will fit. I am running 245/35/20's with +40 offset rims (stock is +45) and I don't rub.

Thats a lot of tire for the stock 17" x 7" wheels though, no? I have 245s on my 8.5" wide wheels and its pretty solid.

Stockers are 17 x 7.5. But yeah, I think 245s are nearing the limits of the rim's width.

Thanks guys. I was looking at the 215's and the tire looks way to narrow for the 7.5 rim. It looks like an extra inch of tread width would be just right. Based on previous experience I know a 245 in one brand could be a good bit wider or narrower than a 245 in another so I'll keep that in mind when I need new tires.

I could go 235 but nothing in a 235 gets as close to the stock tire diameter as the 245/50-17 does.
