hi, my q45 came with 215/60-16 tires which need to be replaced. i can get a great deal on goodyear v rated (149mph) tires. can i use them without problem. i can also get a deal on goodyear regattas with the stock size of 215/60-16, but these are a bit cheaper tires, T rated (118 mph). i would prefer the 225/60-16 v rated tires. which would you recomend. is there much difference in driveability other than the slight speedometer difference? thanks for your input.

First off welcome, and congrads on the car. As for the tires I see no reason why that would cause a problem. If you're worried about clearance don't be. I'm running 245/45/19, and 275/40/19 with no rub, so you'll be fine the speedo difference who cares, not like you drive the speed limit anyway, or do you?

Why would you think most Gyears are a decent tire for a 97 Q.............in FLA I would thing Michelin would be more appropriate.

If wet/rain braking distance are important to you study Tire Rack Tire test and see how the worst tires take 25 feet longer to stop from just 50 mph than the best.

V rated or better most often stop better in wet than lower rated tires!

Police car tires 225/60/16V are often a good bet especially for the price.
