Hello all, I just bought a 1995 240sx starter from ebay and the mechanic said that it won't fit on my car which is a 1993 240sx. Is this true? He said something about the the top is too long, the end that spins. He also said that my starter is held by two bolts and the 95 starter shows 3 holes. Anyways, I just want to make sure he is right before I have to waste money and buy another one. Both cars are five speed.

Does anyone have a write-up on how to change the starter, I can't seem to reach the bolts. Pics would be good also.

Thanks

Not sure if your starter will work on a 93. Just resell it on ebay and get a good one from a nissan parts store or something...

The install is easy, but you really need 2 people to change the starter in my opinion. My friend helped me changed mine last July 4th, and i can't imagine how hard it would have been without his help.

Anyway the starter is near the oil filter and you have to get under the car to unscrew the 2 bolts. One bolt is easy to get to, but the 2nd one is hard to see, so you have to feel around for it. I pretty much had my friend uncrew the 2nd bolt from the top of the car, while i kept the wrench in position from under. I remember there is a nut that needs to be unscrewed from the starter too. (ground wire maybe..can;t remember) But you will see it once both bolts are unscrewed.

On my install the hardest part was unscrewing the bolts, since i was under the car, I had no leverage to turn the wrench. Also wear goggles or something to cover your face. Tons of dirt and crap fell on my face during the install.
