I'm currently replacing my clutch in my '93 fastback and also replacing the transmission due to bad syncros. I bought a transmission from a salvage yard out of an '89 240 with 86,000 miles for about $300. When I pulled the transmission out of my car I noticed that everything is pretty much the same except the dohc trannys have a sensor that the '89 does not. Can it still work without the sensor? Help!!!!!!!!

240s dominate all hondas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes the SOHC transmission works on the DOHC motor...there's one bolt that won't line up but it still gets the job done

I'm doing an auto to manual swap on my 95. There's a guy a couple hours from me with a 90 hatch willing to sell his 5spd stuff so if it would work, then I'd like to know if there's anything you need to do or if it's almost plug and play(considering anyway what you're doing)

yes, they will work perfectly. I currently have a 89 5-speed trans in my 93. I have converted from auto to manual. For the auto to manual swap take the torque converter bushing out of the motor before you put the trans in, or the trans won't slide all the way in.

Does the S13 transmission throw a code in the 95? I know in the 96+ it will due to the lack of the crankshaft position sensor. This is mainly a problem for people who have to pass emissions. Especially people who have to pass OBDII emissions like in GA and Cali.
