Hi, all.

Like the question says, will 16"x8.5", 40mm offset wheels, fit a 95 Q45?

This would be used 300ZX TT wheels ... what is a good price for such used wheels in decent condition?

Yes! theey are ideal and cost the dealer arouind $300 each brand new...............if perfect $150 each [in 8.5" vs the more common 7.5" which might bring $100.

The problem is like all wheels after a few years [50,000 miles] they get out of round on the inside flange.I recently paid $300 [4-7.5"]had to drive to Bham, AL to pick them up and two will need repair say I'll have have $125 in each one when finished ...........still inexpensive compared to junky aftermarket wheels and they only weigh 16 pounds , the 8.5" weigh 17.5 pounds.

Are all 4 8.5" wide? The TT had a staggered wheel size, with 8's on the front.

In the ones I am looking at, all four are 8.5" wide. Hope these fit in the front!

They do with 255/50-16. Glenn in Vancouver has them on his Q45.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t

WOW! Those are the Holy Grail of rims for the 1st-gen Q. DO NOT pass them up!!!

Mmmmm. 8.5" rims with some sticky 255/50ZR16's? Pure bliss.

Okay, everybody ... please volunteer your thoughts! I need to know asap:

Should I pay $550 for a set of these 8.5" rims in apparently good condition? Would you think $500 is better? Should I offer lower?

Questions, questions, questions ...

Make sure each wheel is good by mounting them alone on a spin balancer and making sure no lip requires more than 10.0 grams to balance to zero [3-5 grams would be better and roughly what they are brand new].

The standard 300zx 16 x 7.5" work fine also and should be around $80-$100 per wheel if close to spec.

Sometimes you go thru 8-10 wheels to get 4 suitable ones if used but that beats paying $1200 new with a discount.

Remember these wheels are directional there are left and right wheels.

I'd drop $550 on them if they're straight and true (that should be a contingency of the deal).

Yes, indeed! Are they marked appropriately? Or does it not matter as long as the same ones are used on the same side?

That is what I was planning to do - just was not sure of how much to expect. Thanks much for the info!

The spokes are such that they will evacuate air from the rotors when travelling foward. Don't know what they would do rotating backwards. I guess this negates any advantage of non-directional tires.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t

Blow outside air on the rotors perhaps? :)Quote »I guess this negates any advantage of non-directional tires.[/quote]

True! I had not thought of that ... but not a big deal for me per se, since the tires I am looking at using are directional.
