Really? I found that the evo had SIGNIFICANTLY more interior room and trunk space than my coupe does (which happens to be the only car we drive long distanct).joe603 wrote:EVO's are nice...but the car is a bit small. Not the best family car around. I suggest an SUV!!!
It worked great on a recent road trip with the wife and our 9-month old!
There was no way we'd be able to take everything we needed with a car. (pack and play, excersaucer, bumbo chair, and an extra suitcase...all for the baby)
This is true. I found a local shop that will do a thorough inspection prior to purchase. I'm also willing to have parts replaced if the purchase price isn't too high. Actually a purchase probably won't be in the near future. Maybe end of the year at earliest.ldstang50 wrote:Being a former Evo owner, I can say you buying a modded one is like buying a grenade with the pin already pulled. Sure it works great now while you hold onto it and think about it, but as soon as your start to slip or let your mind wander elsewhere, she blows up on you and causes more of a headache than anything else.
Smart woman, get her what she wants while you have what you want.Sentientbydesign wrote:She's been gawking at this car for a year or so now and on Saturday I took her out sans-baby to test drive an 06.
I thought that she'd change her mind after driving one, but she still wants one.
It will be replacing hers, but it would probably be replacing mine as the "family car".joe603 wrote:well if you replace your G with an EVO that's one thing...it does have more room. I was under the impression that you were replacing your wife's vehicle not yours.
Have you looked at newer G37 sedans? I'm telling you...drive the FX!!
I think price is more of an issue there. If I were to get a G sedan (IT WOULD BE MINE!!!) and it would have to be an 08. The 07 throttle was a PITA. Cost on 08s are still in the high $20s whereas an EVO can be had for under $20 *shrugs*kmckis1029 wrote:why not a g35/7x?
not that the evo isnt a nice car... just not as practical if you have a kid... but yeah what the wife/gf wants try your best to get... you will be happier in the end
Joe...I went to Cali this last weekend. Took the G....fit all of that stuff in. Don't ask me how. Barely had room for any of our luggage. If my subs hadn't been stolen I'm sure I wouldn't have had room and would have needed to take the 4Runner though.joe603 wrote:EVO's are nice...but the car is a bit small. I appreciate your input. I don't agree with it, but I appreciate it.tollboothwilley wrote:
SBD - I say stay away from the EVO. I think the car is a POS. Cheap interior falls apart. They are fast...they just feel so gutted to me. Not the type of car you really want with a baby and stuff IMO.
Gracias. I seem to remember Suby's commercials about a year ago touting their safety ratings and clean factories.Poyzinous wrote:If you're worried about crash safety, the WRX is one of the safest small cars.
