Wierdness... phantom problem.

Roll racing up on the highway last night something very odd happened to me. Going about 30 in 2nd we start... rev up to about 6300 and quickly shift into 3rd. Gear goes in fine, but the rpms are slowly dropping, keep in mind im WOT. So I let off and put it into 4th... give it some gas and I'm still slowing down. Rpms are down to near idle and I wander off to the shoulder. Car idled fine and I shut it off. Waited a minute or two. Started it back up and drove off. On the way back I floored it and the car seemed to run fine. I really have no idea what could or did happen other than a clutch problem. However I never once smelled burnt clutch, and I have a full clutch fluid resevoir.

could be a bad ground killing off the spark to the motor...
