The good news is I ordered new tires for my car yesterday. Yokohama AVS ES100s.

The bad news is, something wierd happened on my drive home today. I pulled onto my street, and noticed this clicking sound from my back left tire. I pull in, and look. And there are these stringy rubber things running off my tire. And the tread is like destroyed. I know the tires are warn, thats why I got the new ones. I was just curious, what the hell happened? I had been on the freeway for about 30 mins, reasonable speeds. On the roads home, I had engaged in spirited driving, but nothing wild. A few fast turns.

I just wanna know what happened. And now I dont dare drive on em...

your tread separated, either from old age, being a recap(re-treaded tire), or from wear...or possibly a faulty tire, but if it was worn badly I doubt that.-chet
