Wierd noise Right at spool up

So my car at 7PSI makes normal spooling noises. When i up it to 12 it makes an extra sound.

Imagine the noise the churping crickets make...

prrrr prrrr prrrr prrr prrrr...

Now take out the pulses and lower the frequency slightly.

It sounds almost exactially like a cycada but mutch quieter.

The noise happens on top of the normal spooling noise. The car pulls Hellah hard at 12 ish PSI.

There seems to be a threshold (it could be my imagination) where i can create this same noise at stock boost. If i am in fifth at about 2,500 and i floor it... Right as it starts to make 1 or 2 psi it makes the same noise but not as loud.

My turbo makes a waaaaaaaa sound when my engine is decelerating. Sometimes it is way louder than others. I took off the intake and I found that I could move the shaft about 2mm by wiggling the shaft side to side. The spec on a T28 (all I had) is I believe .002 to .005 in. You might do the same to yours. If you can move the shaft then your turbo is blown because you sure as hell cant feel .002in of play.

It may have some play but it isn't leaking and it's makin' a lot of power (104.7 in the 1/4 at approx 14psi) I'll have to check into the play thing...

Sounds like your turbo is about to pack up and go home, might want to start looking.
