i have some strange noise coming from my transmission, its there at idle and its there when in gear, when rpm's rise the noise increases, when i depress the clutch the noise goes away though... the noise sounds like something rubbing against something, like metalish rubbing sound but very light rubbing..

thats the best description i can think of..

:help max

edit: o yeah i put redline mt-90 in yesterday, it wasnt making the noise right after that... and i filled the fluid up to the fill plug (~2.5 quarts)

The throwout bearing is in between the engine and transmission. Its the part that disengages the clutch. I doubt its that if transmission oil made the sound go away. I've had the exact same noise for months now and so far its just a nuisance.
