wierd noise around 2.5k to like 3.9 k

does anyone know wat could be the symthoms? my car makes this wierd whineing noise not like one of the belts must be loose but like a very distinct whine almost like if its super charged idk wat it is. i thought maybe it has to do with my tensioners and since i need to get the upper 2 guides since it makes that annoying noise i though this could be related to it... or something else?? could it be my intake its kinda loose and stock where seals up at the air box. previous owner lost those bolts. idk but it just came out of nowhere, my car runs and strong.

DO you have a manual or automatic transmission? Also how many miles are on the car and where about on the car is the noise coming from? It sounds like your transmission might be going or needs a fluid change. If it's an automatic trans my car makes the same noise especially when the engine is cold, is this a new noise or has it been doing it since you got the car? Need specifics for anyone to be able to help you.

sry but its any automatic and it onl;y has 78,000 around there miles. It starting making the sounds awhile back once it stasrted getting cold. could be the transmission but its wierd. its never a cold or hot thing just allways. i only hear it as certain rpms. Myabe i should change te transmission fluid. the car runs really though. Sounds the noise is coming from the engine not the transmission but i could be wrong...... i thought it had something to do with the guides rubbing around orsomething.

definately check your transmission fluid, automatics have a tendency to whine for some reason, ever automatic car I've ever driven whined when it got some miles on it, especially when it was cold out.
