Wierd noise.. 240sx..

on revving my motor, at around 2900-3300 rpms.. (somewhere inbetween, i never really paid attn to the rev), my engine makes a noise, that sounds like something is in the valve cover flopping around.. like if there was a bolt or something in there, bouncing around.. any clue what i should look for?.. My engine still runs hard, i dont think its a valve.. is it possible its my timing chain guide?.. ive heard about issues with that..

I think I have the problem too. I hear a weird gridding noise at about 3k rpm. But I was told that the noise was coming from the exhaust. I asked someone to listen for me while I had the car in the air. It might be a loose heat plate or whatnot

well no, mine isnt a rattle, its actually like a ding ding ding noise.. you rev up to about 3k rpms, and let off, and you hear a dinging noise, as if something were inside the valve cover jumping around..

i can only say pull that cover. check bolt torque and such.
