.S13 Red Top.

All the timing marks are on key.

1. #1 Piston TDC.2. 2nd Mark on the Left on the Crank .3. CAS put in right.

BUT !

I have a misfire. New Plugs. I have spark on only 3 cylinders. 1 Coil pack wasnt giving me spark. So i switched it with my old BLACK TOP one. Still misfiring. So i switched them ALL With my FRIENDS RED TOP coils...STILL MISSING ! WTF. All my grounds are in.

Do the coil pack Harness go bad on SR's ? Should i swap the harness ? I really would like to know what the problem is...I dont like swapping or buying unneccessary things to solve a problem. I wanna know Cause and Effect and Resolution.

I was narrowing down to that since I was forcing in the motor banging the harness up against the firewall and A/C line. I have an extra and will put on in the morning and report back.

I have the same issue. I was driving along just fine, and goodbye cylinder.

I checked the ignitor chip as per the FSM, and it seems to be ok. I dont know if they go bad, I was thinking about buying another one and swapping it in for the hell of it, but havent done it yet. I also swapped in my spare ecu and it didnt fix anything.

So its not, coilpack, plug, ecu.

please update what you find. I asked this a while ago and got a bunch of replies like "check your compression" I have compression across all 4, and fuel, just short one fire!

I was trying to trace the spark signal from start to finish. As far as I could tell, the signal originated at the ecu -> harness ->ignitor chip -> harness -> coil pack. What else is in between?

are you sure you are getting fuel to that first cylinder? try switching an injector if you aren't sure.

Fuel is there...there is no SPARK when i lift the coil pack up slightly, I cant see any ARCING. Also when i use my inline-spark tester, I dont get anything either...the replacement harness is on now. Im doing my timing over and checking my wiring and grounds. I also have a code for a MAF. I wonder is that haunting me. But how can it !? When Im able to rev past 2-3K RPM. I just have a crappy idle. when I was testing mine, I had my friend crank while I watched for spark, no spark. In frustration I plugged in the coil pack to the lead off another cylinder and put it over the plug hole. Damn near burned my face off.

To answer your question yes. It happened to me. I swapped the harness and it worked fine.

There's only so many reasons for misfire, air, fuel, and spark. It can't be air in this case and if you've done everything you say you have you've covered fuel and spark. My bet is that you've really skipped a step you said you've done, or didn't do it properly. Have you checked compression?

I guess I didnt have the Timing Marks on right oopz.

Also when rotated the CAS 360 counter-clockwise, while i was spinning it...it paused twice on me. So everything is on time and the CAS is installed the right way. Tomarrow i will spark it up and see how it runs.

.deep breathe. If it doesnt get resolved tomarrow...I swear for G.O.D, Im going to be so upset that I might go and sign up for the dam AIR FORCE. If someone isnt doing anything 2marrow and is in the North Jersey Area ( Elizabeth) Please feel free to drop by around like 12 noonish 1ish.
