ok check this out. This has happened to me a few times in my car. First off its a 91 S13 with S13 Blacktop SR installed.

Ok, I will hit the gas and the car hesitates then wont go over around 2k RPMS. No matter how hard I try and rev it, it wont exceed 2k RPMS. However then I turn on the A/C and it starts revving like normal, no problems. Even after I turn off the A/C the car runs fine. This happens every once in awhile. What could it be? MAF? ECU?

when the maf goes bad or car doesnt have maf plugged in, the ecu will kick into safe mode and not let the car rev over 2k

Ok so it must be the MAF but why would the A/C being turned on fix the problem or take the car off of safe mode? Hmmmm....

might as well get the 300Z mafs and upgrade your ECU to get more power.

yeah dont have that kind of money right now though. But that brings up an excellent point. Should I go the JWT ECU route, the PowerFC route, Greddy Emanage route or the Apex S-AFC route?
