Has anyone else noticed a strange idle whenever you lower or raise the windows???

I have an 08' Versa SL w CVT. I've put alot of AV into the car, not that I think this makes for the reason. Everytime I raise the windows or lower, the car vibrates for a second....

Anyone who knows why, please explain....Also, is there anything I should do to make sure this is not a prob later???Upgraded plugs or whatever?????

Probably between your audio and all the stock electronics, there is too much draw on your alternator. Solutions: find a bigger alternator (not sure if one exists that will fit) or remove some electrical components. Usually starting with audio, because they take the most power (along with climate controls)

My Versa does this too, even without any stereo mods - it's completely stock. If the car is idling and you roll a window (or two, especially) up completely, it'll drop the idle about 100 or 200 RMPs for a split second.

It happens on most cars (just watch the tach) but on the Versa, it seems as if the lower RPMs transmit more vibration into the cabin, which makes the slight dip in idle more noticeable.

Yes it happens to me too when I put the electric window down, more so in winter, electric fan motor, rear defogger, the car actually shakes. It also happen in summer but not as harsh.

same thing with me, i have the 6-speed, and it seems to feel like its about to stall when i roll the windows up and down, especially when i do 2 or 3, like hit the auto up, then do 2 other ones

LMAO my RPM goes up when I turn on the lights or turn on the windshield wipers so the windows are alright i guess

If i remember right the car controls basically all power consumption and i figure the altenator isnt always working as hard as it could be.. tell it needs it.. but i dunno.. These new cars.. they have so many freaken electronics on them. Also since if i remember right the car has "power as in electric steering" and a lot of other electrical components it is probably getting to much draw.. If the idle change wasn't noticable i might think its something to do with the tach just going a little wacky while driving.. I had a corvette that did that when you turns the headlights on..

It does not happen to me. It must be because mine has manual windows. When I crank the windows RPMs stay the same. Oh! It must be because I have manual windows. :lol

And this is why I choose manual windows over auto ones.
