Post

i have a 09 1.8s manual 6 speed sedan with 1000 miles

I have noticed two things on the car that are different to me

1. The clutch is letting out within inches of the top. (like a on off switch). It is not bad but was wondering if that is common for this car.

2. Around 4000rpm the car seems to falls flat. It just doesnt pull the same as it does at the lower rpms.

thanks

I'll give it a shot

Clutch: The versa does have a smaller friction point that some of the other cars I have been in. I can see how one would think switch... it's not that bad... I say Typical of the 2 I have drove.

4K flat spot: Yep... it was huge when I got the car, A/C on, less than 2000 miles. I have tried to change gas stations and octane ratings. I figured it was typical as the other 2 cars I drove did the same thing... The good news is that it seems to have gone away or almost gone. I did add a CAI and just added miles. Not sure if it's the 89oct(tried something new), cooler air, or just a millage thing. I'm at 2300 miles now... so far so good. I wish I had a Consult3 so I can see the spark, fuel trims, knock and timing retard... uggg

The clutch is not a big deal. It has a manual transmission so i am happy.

. It is a fun car to drive. It is flat around 3500 to 4300 then picks back up. With 6 gears it is not a big deal. I am used to driving a 5 speed 1990 honda civic with a vtec engine.(swapped mini-me motor) with no ac or power steering. I love getting in a new car that has cold air conditioning and knock on wood no problem what so ever.

I am looking forward to adding some mileage and mods to this car.

thanks

Wow, I pushed mine to 4000 for the first time today, since I'm past the break-in and I felt like passing on a hill. With the CVT it runs about 2600 at 75mph, so it's rare to run it so high. (I hope we don't hear from you later complaining about the mileage you're getting if this is normal driving for you!)
