I'd check the plastic skid plate and see if any of it is hanging. As for a CV boot, FWD cars do sometimes have that problem. With the 240 being a RWD car, I think if a CV boot in the rear is torn and the bearings in there is rusted, it will make noise all the time. As for an alignment, does your car slowly turn to the left or right when you have your hands off the wheel while driving? If it does, then yep, you need an alignment.
For the noise again, I'd double check all the underside skid plates up front. Hope this helps!
