I know that hicas had a rear of 21mm and convertibles had a front of 25mm, but I want to know the diameter of the rear convertibles....anybody know?

I'm asking 'cuz it's easier to find a wrecked convertible than a hicas in my town.

you could measure it yourself. heres an easy way. get a crescent wrench and snug it up around the bar. then measure the inside of the crescent's jaws.

Chingon......I LOVE YOU! You have wrecked verts in your town!!!

Anyways. I think verts had the beefed up rear sway bar since we had the sport package suspension, ABS brake components (just no ABS), and such. If I wasn't about ready to leave for Kentucky, I'd go jack up the 240 and check for you.

Ching,

I've got a rear anti-sway from my convertible out in my garage. (replaced with sustec)

I'll check thickness on it for you tomorrow.

Any of those wrecked 'verts in your town have good door panels?

to tell you the truth...I haven't checked. I only stated that they were easier to find relatively to the hicas. If I check for sway bars, I'll let you know for sure (have to make some calls).

texas (el paso to be exact). You wouldn't imagine the size of wrecking yards over here. I mean they are square miles big (and that is no overstatement)...and we also have like 30 of them. Of course, we also have Juarez, Mexico (10-15 min drive)....only the 7th biggest city in Mexico w/their own wrecking yards. And odd as it is, ppl love 240's over there. There's always at least 4 selling every weekend....

Cool, thanks Chingon, let me know on those door panels.

(window weatherstripping at the top is coming loose, especially where it goes around the seatbelt post, and the plastic is getting somewhat warped)

Anyone want those OEM anti-sways off the vert? 25mm front and 16mm rear?

Chingon,

I'll sell you both for $20 + shipping... If you don't want the rear (and why would you) I'll probably just toss it.

I'm guessing $20-25 on the shipping...

BoyWonder, what addtl parts are you looking for?

I mostly need the door panels, but could use the rear int quarter panels too, and the plastic trim piece that goes along the edge of the rear seat. (and the cover that goes over the top when it is down...)

what exactly is a door panel? Like the inside trim you mean?

Pictures of the stuff you need will help me if I go wreck hunting this weekend.

I really need a passenger side door.. the one I have on there now is bent, and not sitting correctly. Prefer a black one, but I suppose I'll take what I can get. I could also kind of use the interior drivers side door panel but the passenger door takes more priority.

Here is a pic of a what I'm calling a door panel:

vert version is a bit different, to accomodate the seat-belt pillar, but looks pretty similar from this point of view...

Nissan dealer wanted $860 each for vert door panels!!!!

You can get them for a relatively cheaper price from everythingnissan.com They want only $650

Door panels are expensive, and they get jacked up too easily on 'verts. My driver interior could use replacing, but I have other parts I need to worry about first.

Chingon, if you could, find out how much a rear view mirror would run, plus the wiring running up under the cowl trim. It's no good to me without the wiring.

I"m thinking there must be some guys somewhere local that would make something custom for much less than $600...

Looking at '30s hot-rods, etc, even though they often have more metal parts of the doors, maybe some custom molded fiberglass or something should seemingly cost less than $600....
