Whats the widest wheel size you have seen fit on an s14 or even an s13 without huge fender flares? Or even more specific, how wide could i get with what specific offset? i dont really know how all the offset stuff works...

I would like to know also, i have read almost 100% of all post in the 240SX Section (i WAS a newbie just a week ago) i have learned so much but still i am clueless in some others.

i have heard that with 235 wide tires you feel like "your on rails" if it fit's i don't know, and i don't know about the Wheel and offset.

I also have a question about wheels, what is the fattest tire i can fit in a 7" and a 7.5" wheel.

I ask because i want to be able to "drive" a car 100+ mph, do events here in mexico cross state (if you can call it that)...

also what is the spring rate on the stock suspension for the Base and SE 96 carsz(is SE springs a viable upgrade??), i don't want to be(and can't be more then an inch) lower i just want to feel a firm grip, i will buy AGX or Konis in the near future.

The 240 can hold some monster size width wheels and tires in my opinion. BUT, you have to have the right offset wheel. I'm currently running 245/45/17's all around on 8" wide rims. The stock 300ZX TT rear wheels (8.5") also fit all around, but you may need a small spacer up front. Hell, with fender flares and the right offset I wouldn't be surprised to see 10" wheels fit easily in the back.

On a 7" rim I personally wouldn't go any wider than a 225. The sidewall and brand and model of the tire can play a role in the width as well. For example, on my 95, I have 7" wheels with 225's all around, but the front sidewall is only 45 mm and does not bulge. However, the rear tire sidewall is 55mm and does bulge out somewhat (the tires are different brands as well). The tire rack has all the numbers listed for each individual brand and model of tire for each different size. It comes in handy.

7.5"...I would say 235 at the widest, although I'm sure you could easily fit a 245 without a problem....just may not look as good if it bulges out. I've always gone for the 'straight up and down' look where the tire doesn't bulge or bend inwards.

Just FYI, I have 225/50R16s (Toyo Proxes FZ4--not my favorite tires) on the stock 16" SE rims on my '95 and they bulge out big time. Like cnicholes said, this doesn't look that good (IMO). The stock rims are only 6.5" wide, and this is 20mm wider than stock tire recommendation, so bulging is expected. The tires are pretty grippy when going straight (and the wideness looks great from the back), but the side-view is kinda hokey, and it sloshes a little on the sidewall around corners. A 7" or 7.5" wheel would fix this.

The only good thing about this "too wide a tire" setup is that if I'm stupid and pull too close to the curb, the tire brushes, and not my rim. But I'm still looking to get different tires and wheels (I actually already have 17x7.5s, but no tires yet).

Thanks a lot for replying guys, but i still would love to know where i can get some info on which/what offset works best with the 240. Also another question i have is, Veilside makes wheels and some of them are 9x 114.3, now does that mean that would fit on a 5x 114.3 AND a 4x114.3? because i am stuck with the 4 lug. Im also damn sure those wheels are $$$$$$$ but does anyone know how much they actually cost? ...and no i dont just want veilside wheels because of the RX7 in Fast and the furious...thanks again in advance to any replies.

guess you and I are in the same boat, i have located "THE" wheel for my (I only like 5 spoke wheels :rolleyes ) its a BINNO wheel and it's sold only here in South Cali.

it's the only one i have found on 16" (i don't want a skinny tire at all, it's 7 1/2 inches wide  and in 4x113" (i guess).

BUT i don't know about the offset

http://www.binno.com.br/rodas/...B+930

The possible offset on this wheels are

15 | 30 | 35 | 45

What offset do i need?

As much as I hate to give up this "secret" that I discovered, I do want to help you guys out.

The best cheap wheel that I've found that fits PERFECTLY on a 5 lug 240 is the stock Cobra Mustang wheel (mine are from a 96). Offset is great and allows the 8" rim to fit all around without spacers. They're 17" too and look great on an S14. I'll include pics if anyone wants to see for themselves.

I paid $400 plus shipping for all 4 and they were in pretty damn good shape for being 5 years old.

I knew Fords were good for something. :ylsuper

Wow :spit that really is on the heavy side, have you find anything remote to what i´m looking for???

16 or 17" by at least 7 1/2 wide5 Spoke design, the closest to stock as possible (ie flat looking, IMO it flows with the body)

At least MY problem is that i have 4 lug hubs, i cant fit mustangs, or RX7 (wich i think they are also 16x8 ) or whatever wheel there is.

Email me [email protected] if you want to keep the follow ups off board but since the board is starting is good info for us newbie´s :icesangel

Does anyone know if SSR Integrals come in 4 lug design?

I've seen 245/40-17's on 9 inch wide wheels on the fronts with careful choice of offset and tire. By tires, you may want to avoid tires that have a rim protector bead as it may contact the strut.

On the rears, I have test fit an 18x10 with a 275 wide tire. Still had some room left as well. I don't remenber the offset or the entire tire size.

IMO, if you have 4-lug, make the switch to 5.

front hubs knuckles (is this 2 parts or 1)?front rotorsrear hubsrear rotors

Euhh . . . I thought you needed new axles to switch to 5 lug? Anyways, here's all the rims I've found with good weights . . . did I mention I have expensive taste?

Manufacturer Model Weight(lbs.) Price($) 5zigen FN-01R 11.7+ 400Advan RG 12.7+ 500 Aguzze S-07R 14.0-BBS RG F1-Racing 12.6+Monster Sport Type R 12.9+Mugen MF8 12.0+Mugen MF10 11.0+Racing Hart CP-035 11.2+ 370Racing Sparco Viper R 11.2+Spoon Sports SW388 12.9+SSR Competitions 12.1+SSR Type R 11.5+Stark MS 12.0+Volk Racing TE 37 11.2+ 391

Most of the +'s mean I could only find 15s or 16x7s so there would be additional weight in 16x7.5 size (which is the size I want). Anyways, I have to wait until after after my engine swap before I start worrying about looking pretty. ^ ^

Tip: most rims are available in both 4 and 5 lug patterns if you find an official dealer . . . so IMO just stick with 4 lug :-P

Yeah i definately think its not worth it to switch to 5 lug. I mean, sure it would be nice to just have the 5 lug, but at what cost? Still curious though if anyone knows about the 9x 114.3 wheels that veilside makes. Im sure they are exspensive, but hey its for curiousity's sake.

Right now, with stock offset, I have 17x7s with 255/40s i the rear and 215/40s in the front on the 96 and 92. Everything fits fine. However, i am already getting ready to upgrade. I am getting ready to upgrade to Zenetti Valeos 17x7 front with 225/40s, and 17x8 rear with 275/40s with slightly smaller offset.

I just swapped my 4 lug for 5 lugs. You need new rotors, and thats it (aside from the knuckle assembly, obviously!). They bolt right on to the existing components, and NO, you don't need new axles or anything, just new rotors (which isn't a bad investment anyway).

if anyone wants my old 4 lug hubs with 70%-80% 4 lug rotors, email me
