Does any one know what the widest wheel and tire combo I can install on my 04 touring six speed. I know that the wheels are staggered and I want to maintain them that way. I'm running the Stock 18 wheels right now. I was thinking about some 19 inch ultra lights I just don't know the maximum width for the front and the rear. Any help will be greatly appriciated

Jet Pilot is running 18x10 +35mm in the rear and 18x9 +22 in the front. I think it also depends on the tire you want to use. JP has Toyo Proxes R888 tires and he's running a 305/35/18 in the rear. To use a tire that wide he had to go with a shorter spring in the rear because the tire was rubbing the bottom spring perch on the coilovers.

I want to run the widest possible tire cause I know a lot of the traction comes from there. I don't really want to modify the suspension yet I wanna stick with the basics for right now. I was thinking 245 in the front and 275 in the rear. I'm also not looking for flash I all about performance. Am I safe with the sizes I put down? Right now I have the stock 225 font and 245 rear.

From a practical/cost-effective stand point I'd do 18x9(F) and 18x10(R). They'll definitely fit, they'll be cheaper (and lighter) then 19's and the tires are also quite a bit cheaper. You won't run into any fitment issues with those wheels sizes. 275 is perfect for the rear, and 245 should be nice (although you could do 255 if you wanted). Make sure you get the right offset.

right now i'm running 255/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear. Ideally, you'll want 255/35/19 front and 285/35/19 rear to be within the original specs.

Like the other said, offset is the key. You probably can go up to 305 in rear with correct offset. if your car is lowered, then you'll need to roll the fender to fit anything over 295.

When in doubt... check Rimtuck.com.http://www.rimtuck.com/thumbna...=350Z&

Click on the ID # to the left of the setup to see the details of the fitment...

Here's one: 19x9.5+12 265/30/19 and 19x10.5+12 285/30/19

One neat little trick that has worked out for a lot of folks w/ handling is to take a wheel tire combo that matches your rear stock wheel/tire and put it on the front.

the handling is lmaybe be a little less benign this way, but you will get better yransient responses and crisper turn in

Hey Guys,

Sorry for bringing this tread back up. But I have a big issue with my car. I went with really wide wheels and tires specs:
Specs F: - 35/245/19 (RIM WIDTH = 19.5)
Specs R: - 35/275/19 (RIM WIDTH = 11)

I know I should have went with 285's and 255's, but this is what I was recommended when purchasing them.

I have a huge handling problem. When I drive on the highway, my car is not aggressive anymore, a lot of body roll, especially in the rear. I took a sharp exit going home from work and almost hit the curb, it's just doesn't handle right.

I know I need alignment ASAP, but any shop that I went to, they can only do a stock alignment for 18" Wheels. But with tires and wheels that I have, I'm afraid it is not an option for me. There is only one place "Firestone" that can do custom alignment for me, but they need settings to use with my tires and my car...

Can anyone suggest me what should I do? I checked my tires pressure it is set 35 psi all around.

Here are some pics:

those tires are far too narrow for those wheels. (if your concerned with handling)

just look at it this way:

stock rear tire width vs wheel width) 9.65 vs 8.5 - so tires about a full inch wider

your rear tire width vs wheel width) 10.83 vz 11 - so tires about an eighth inch narrower

recommended or not, this is probably a lot of your problem.

Damn... I don't think I can return those tires, so any suggestion on how to get it fixed? Maybe wheel spacers for the fronts?

Who advised you to go with those tire specs? Here on the east coast that's how ricers have their tires and wheels. They love stretching their narrow tires to fit wider rims. Never listen to a ricer. Wheel spacers are not going to fix the problem. All that will do is make the wheel stick out farther past the wheel well. The tires will still be too narrow for the wheels you have. You need wider tires.
