wider tires on stock rims. opinions?

i have a 2009 altima 3.5 se sedan. i know the stock tire size is 215/55-17, but i was wondering how it would affect the ride if i put 235/50-17 on there. i used the calculator and it says it will fit but was wondering if it would actually be worse for the ride. any kind of info would be great.

Ride wouldn't be worse, but there would be a bit of a bulge. Would look stupid. Stock tire size is there for a reason lol.

I accidentally bought 225's. Not that noticeable. Tires look slightly more meaty, but it looks close enough to stock that it doesn't look bad. I wouldn't recommend going wider than that, though.

Like others said, it will look silly but it might ride better?
