im looking into gettin a wideband 02 and safc to start the turbo fun.its pretty much between the zietronix zt-2 and plx m300. anyone have any experience with these units? the zt-2 seems to have a good amount of features for a reasonable amount of money, but im not sure if all the features will work on a nissan. the guy seems pretty devoted to dsm's, and i dont know if the tach and tps signals are the same. thanks for any help info you have

I can't remember if I've ever heard of either of those units. There is a decent amount of information on honda-tech.com about wide band units. You may also want to try zilvia.net and freshalloy.com(I may have the .com and the .net backwards)

i just emailed him and i guess you can set it all up in the datalogging options, so thats good news. you can use the tach ecu input or the primary coil side. where are you planning on puttin the o2 sensor? cuz i think its 18mm with a 1.5 pitch, which seems bigger than stock. you have an aim screen name i can get you at? i definately wanna know how you make out. thanks

my email is [email protected], And since its for turbo you shouldnt place it too close to the turbo so you have to weld a new bung in your exhaust/downpipe so the thread pitch/size doesnt matter. And Im going to tap the rpm signal to the ecu it should work fine.

so it came in the mail yesterday and i threw it on. same size at a stock o2 so i was wrong about that, but that made it a lot easier anyway. i put up a few pics on zilvia if anyone wants to see em.

I'd be weary of running a wideband sensor in the stock location.

Widebands tend to be very susceptible to high temperatures, and the temps in the o2 housing are probably a bit high for it. Worst case is you'll shorten the life of the sensor a bit.

FWIW I'll be running mine in my o2 housing for startup and tuning, then get a bung welded further down the downpipe once the car is tuned enough to drive it around town.

i guess i forgot to mention that i have a hotshot header in right now, and the o2 sensor bung isnt right by the head. the instructions say its fine to put it the downpipe, so i think it should be ok where it is now.thanks for lookin out though....

I'm an idiot...ignore me.

I saw wideband and assumed you were turbocharged. If you're not turbocharged then yeah, put it anywhere in the header you want, you're generating nowhere near as much heat in the manifold as a turbocharged car is.

its quite alrite...its a pretty safe assumption that wideband = turbo. im just piecing stuff together cuz it hurts dropping a couple thou at once. i wanted to learn how to tune with wb and safc before i threw everything else on so i at least had a good idea of what to do.

Excellent move indeed.

I've found when doing any tuning (more specifically with learning a standalone) it's a great idea to learn how to tune and get it running @ 100% when the car is stock. It makes it way easier to tune once it's modded and you introduce a bunch of other variables :)
