hey guys, i'm looking into getting some aftermarket gauges for my Z - definitely gonna get a new boost gauge, but I'm wondering if it's necessary to get a Wideband or would just a simple A/F gauge suffice? there's a big difference in price so I'm just curious if the Wideband is worth it.

A wideband O2 is the only one worth having, as it measures across the whole RPM range. Narrow band, like the factory O2s, aren't good for tuning purposes. I've heard good things about the Innovative LC-1 wideband units

a standard a/f gauge hooked to a standard O2 sensor si ricer fodder, ti does nothing and is horribley inaccurate, beyond that unless you have a way of tuning your ecu any a/f gauge is ricer fodder and does you no good

Irun the LC-1 on my S30 and Z31 both are run to my msns for ego correction not to a gauge, but then most systems don't have ego correction

I've got LC-1 on the WRX, great little setup, very compact, comes with Bosch wideband O2 that you can buy at autozone so if yours ever goes out, no waiting around on it to get shipped.

A Wideband is a very good idea for any boosted car. Its a $250 safety net or a 5k+ motor

You pick!
