Everyone out there with a wideband, I was wondering if you leave it hooked up all the time or only use it for tuning? Is there any detrimental effect to leaving it hooked up, ie. plugging the sensor.

Reason I'm asking is that I'm trying to decide which brand I should go with. The Innnovate unit seems rather bulky and I don't think that I would want it hooked up all the time where as the PLX is a smaller unit and would be much more convenient to mount.

Thoughts and input please.

I aslo use the zt-2, its always plugged in sending the output to my E-01. But i left the cars stock o2 sensor in and welded in a new bung for the wideband.

i run my plx 24/7. its been siad that the sensors can die faster than normal o2 sensors but i have had mine in for about 8k miles and no problems.

what you DO NOT want to do is leave the sensor in without power going to it. if you are not going to run the wideband pull the sensor out and put a plug in there or an old stock o2 sensor

Thats what I would do as well. Leave the stock sensor in, leave the O2 meter or gauge installed in the car, but pull the sensor out of the pipe and plug the hole.

Another thing to to be warry about are the threads on the O2 sensor. Becareful not to over tighten it or you'll strip the threads.

Does anyone have experience using a narrowband A/F guauge with a wideband sensor? I know that PLX sells a converter so you can use your narrow band gauge with the wideband. I'm debating this and don't know how easy it will be to read the gauge as compared to the display that the PLX comes with.

Thanks for all the input so far.

My Innovate LM-1 wideband is on all the time. The first sensor crapped out after 3K. I haven't installed the second sensor yet its somewhere in my room or garage. The narrow band is sitting on my valve cover beacause I'm to lazy to extend extend the wiring and put it on the downpipe.
