so i brought innovate wideband o2 sensor ... and its saying something like i can take the stock o2 sensor out and just connect the stock 02 sensor wire to the new wideband sensor ..... or something like that .... will that work? or do i still have to use the stock o2 sensor one also?

Why would you keep the stock one if you have a brand new wideband o2 sensor to replace it? The fact that its a wideband as opposed to the s***ty stock one and the fact that its brand new as opposed to 14+ years old makes me wonder why thats even a question lol

I was wondering this too. Would I be able to hook up the connector to the wideband or would I have to weld on a second 02 bung

You can only do this with a standalone ECU, but then you must import all the charts and tables it uses to adjust F/R so it can do it's thing.

Otherwise a wideband is nothing more than a utility. It connects to a gauge to tell you your AFR because the narrowband is too inaccurate.

Narrowband goes to your ECU, wideband goes to your gauge.

Wideband does not replace narrowband except for in the aforementioned scenario.

Its so you can just use the same port as the old narrow band o2 sensor, so you can use the wideband sensor and at the same time the wideband will simulate the narrow band signal to the ecu.

seems like you may want to research more, rather than asking questions.

there are PLENTY of engine forums on here, on other forums, and just by googling.

as clawhammer stated, its a supplement to the OEM one. not a replacement. the ECU still needs an OEM signal to function right in off throttle/cruising conditions.
