Good evening. I'm getting ready to put my freaking cat back in my car and I was wondering about where to place my wideband 02 sensor. Of course I need to position it before the cat and after the turbo but I'm wondering if the read out will be affected by the back pressure from the cat. Any input? Appreciated.

I heard that the aem wideband instructions state to place the sensor 14-16" behind the turbo for the best possible readings and to give your sensor a longer life

Yeah I've got that part but what about the catalytic converter? Will it screw up the readings because the exhaust is not flowing as quickly?

if its before the cat then the "slower" exhaust flow will not have any affect and i highly doubt backressure is anything to worry about

normally the hotter an o2 sensor is, the longer it lives....for example, all these honda headers that relocate the o2 sensor to the bottom of the B pipe...those o2's live 3-4 months on average...the higher end headers with the o2 in the oem location rarely suffer o2 sensor failure....i know it may be apples to oranges, but it seems it could apply to a turbo motor as well.
