so i have an egt gauge as well as a wideband on my car, i have cyc one tapped for the egt to get most accurate reading possible, now for the wideband i have a couple choices one is that since i am using twins, and cyc 1 is my leanest cyc, i could use the o2 sensor bung on front dump, and thus very accurate reading, number 2 : it came with a bung so i could just tap into downpipe, number 3: i could use rear dump o2 bung, which would be most accurate to use ? i would assume either one right off the dump, but i was also told that heat can kill a sensor and i would imagine thats gunna be second hottest part of my exhaust system any suggestions ?

i would think that it has to be like 2' away from the turbo. those wideband sensors are pretty sensitive, and when exposed to heat by being so close and ruin them. ive seen a few people here locally destroy a few sensors that way. i would put it some where in the downpipe. i dont think it has to be closer to the engine/manifold. i mean, most tuner shops do tunes with dyno widebands with the tailpipe sniffer and they work great

For the EGT the best place to put it is before the turbo where all the cylinders converge. But since you are running twins, you could put it where the 456 cyl's converge or if you want to see the worst cyl then use the 6th cyl.The 6th is the hottest cyl and depending on your ITM sometimes gets more air than the other cyl's. You should also put the best flowing injector back there too.

(this is from what i've read, I have no 1st hand experience with it)

I put my EGT right behind the 02 sensor. (single turbo)I do know that it is going to be much cooler than before the turbo. But I did not want drill a hole in my cheap *** egay mani. Plus it was on the motor already.

****OOPSssss I started going on a EGT Tanget LOL *****

Stick it in you Downpipe/Test pipe.Thats where mine is going.I have a Egay one cost me $10 and fits pretty good and it already has a bung in it.Especially since your getting a custom DP.

cylinder 6 is usually the leanest for forward facing manifolds, so that is where you are going to want an egt. on the dump is too close and the wideband sensor's life will be shortened. narrowbands are less sensitive to heat so they can be close. i'd say 1.5-2 feet from the turbo exit for widebands.

Musta not come with instructions?

My sensor is actually under the car near the trans.

BTW; This applies to running engines, I imagine you can put yours wherever you please!
