wide wheels and tires

what is the widest tire and wheel i can put on my 92 240sx i saw a s13 240 in super street with 245/45zr17 in the rear but it does'nt say how wide the wheels is

I got VOLK GTN's 17 x 8 in (225/40) front and 17 x 10 (255/40) in the rear. I had to use H&R spacers to fit the rim but they do not rub at all, even during hard cornering.

I attached a pic of the rims before they were installed.

i have 215/45zr17 all around and i don't see how i would fit anything much wider

....so why again did you buy the 240 when you have that surpra from heaven?...or is it just your better daily driver?

1991240xs - Yes, the 240 is my better daily driver... I love the 240, it handles great!

Nils I love how you flashed just a bit of the Supra in one of the photos, probably wasn't on purpose. But I know everyone who has gone through this post got wood when they saw those tail lights and spoiler.:drooling

I run 225 50's on 15x7 rims. I don't think you can go any wider than a 225 without spacers, there ain't much room between the tires and the shocks.

fitting 10" wide on an S13 rear needs modification. To get the difinitive answers do a search on http://www.freshalloy.com, in the advanced forum for 240sx, i know its discussed there every week, so youll get a lot of help from that site. It will tell you the offsets required to fit the different width rims on an s13...
