Why Z32 transmission?

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

As I plan my VH swap I was wondering why everyone uses a VH->VG adaptor. The KA transmission will hold at least 450hp reliably so why spend the extra money on the VG.

I assume the VG transmission has longer gears? and making a KA adaptor would be about the same difficulty?

What are you thoughts? (and yes I know the VG would hold more power but I don't plan on making more than 350)

This is the hybrid section you may want to try the VH VG forums and talk to those guys. This is swapping non nissan engines into nissans and vice versa.

I didn't mean nutfuzz as an insult! I use it a lot. think of it as a term of endearment

I still think the question applies to this forum. If you were going to put a vh in an RX-7 why use the VG transmission instead of the KA?

Car: lots of unique hot rods, and customs, with modern engines, and a good truck to pull the trailer.

As one of teh people doing a VH45/Z32 swap. The greaing. The engine will easily use a Z32 clutch/flywheel/starter, so the trans is a perfect match, and for 500 they make a sweet adapter, that usually fits great.

To the OP, I'm assuming most people use the VG transmission because it's stronger than the KA transmission. It can handle a higher torque load than the KA. The internals of the VG are almost the same as an RB25 transmission. A few people on a different Z forum are going the same route to use the VG transmissions on the L-series motors.
