This is the ABS Actuator from a '16 whose owner never brought it in for the R1916 recall. It should have been replaced four years ago when the bulletin came out. It worked fine for 8 years and almost 100K miles, but then the customer was lucky it didn't ignite the car and his garage with it. We pretty much had to use explosives to get the connector loose, because the power pins were welded from the heat. You might not think so, but brake fluid is flammable... if you get it hot enough.
Never, ever skip out on a recall if your car has one, no matter how insignificant you may think it may be. Ya just never know...
