My little sister bought a 2008 Nissan Rogue back in 2010 and it just so happens that she bought an aftermarket warranty, along with everything else the F&I department offered to sell her...Believe it or not, it actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise. That thing had so many problems over the course of the 2 to 3 years that she owned it. The CVT transmission went out twice, then the shift lock actuator (located on the shifting lever) broke multiple times, and last but not least, she got rid of it after a rodent chewed through the wiring harness, just destroying everything electric within the vehicle. Yeah, in the end, my estimate would be right around $5,000.00 that my sister was able to keep in the bank thanks to the purchase of her warranty. The only repair that required her to pay out of pocket would have been the damage caused to the electrical system by the rodent. She ultimately decided to part ways with the Rogue then sold it for next to nothing. Knowing what I know, I'd have to say ABSOLUTELY, yes you will want to get the extended warranty in order to have the security and peace of mind on this one.
