I recently swapped a newer ka motor and 5 speed into my kouki, and changed the engine bay harness to a 96 5 speed in the process. This was to allow me to use the 5 speed trans harness, and to need to have the clutch pressed to start the car. I did not swap the dash or interior harness, and think this is the problem. The car turns over, but doesnt start. I don't hear the fuel pump turn on, also pulled the fuel line off the rail and cranked it with no gas coming out. But I have power to the fuel pump fuse, and relay. So I can only assume the problem is in between the relay and the pump itself??Any one have this situation??Any suggestions?? My kouki is just sitting there....

Have you checked for voltage at the fuel pump?

Sounds to me like the fuel pump took a dump on you. It can happen sudenly.

How would I go about doing that, do I need to pull the pump?

pop your carpet/padding away from the area in your trunk..then carefully remove the block off plate that covers the harness connector to the plug/transition for the fuel pump..un plug the pump..and use a volt meter to conferm if its working..you will need to use a FSM to tell what wires are the pump and what wires are the gas gauge sender.

Yeah thats what I was asking, what wires are what? The service manual link that I have, freezes up everytime I use it. Was wondering if anyone knew it off hand? I will search now, for a good link.
