i know that is a loaded question. just please bare with me.

i am not getting any spark in my s14 sr20. i tried the ignitor continuity test and i got nothing, anywhere. so, i am pretty sure that is the culpret. but since i don't have another one to test with i thought i would ask for ideas.

i am a little affraid that it might be a sensor issue, can't think of what it might be though.what should be going on with the lower harness (battery/transmission)? i don't think i changed anything, just plugged it in. s14 in an s14

any ideas?thanks

could anybody give me a rundown of what the ecu can do without. ex. boost pressure sensor, egr valve, or any other sensors that aren't needed for the motor to fire.

You're suppose to have the correct ecu for your engine. JDM engines do not have egr valves either.

If your ignitor chip is the culprit I have an extra one lying around! PM or e-mail me if interested.

look,

everyone is going to tell you its this or thatthe same thing happened to me and mostpeople told me it was my ignitor. I did not goaround buying parts without knowing what was wrong. The best thing that I did when I had the sameproblem you had is trace out the harness, understandwhere every wire goes to and how it could prevent the enginefrom starting. In my case I had a bad transmission interlockwire. Anyway, you should check all your grounds, anyone ofthe sensors which are usually blamed for these types of problemsmay have a bad ground connection.
