Car: I just want to make my car faster than everyone else's.

Post

Hello all. I am new to your website. I was wondering... I'm purchasing a 1991 Nissan 240SX. It has been sitting approximately 3 to 4 months without being started. When I tried to start it it would not turn over. A friend was telling me that it could be that the fuel pump has gone bad. If so, is the fuel pump located somewhere easy to get to so I can change it or would it be easier for a mechanic to do it. Or could it be anything else? I know the person I am purchasing the car from, and he seems to have kept the car in good shape. If you could please help me with this delimma it would be greatly appreciated.

the fuel pump is under the carpet in the trunk. just take a look on the right side of the trunk and theres a silver plate that you take off to get access to the tank, then take the plate off the tank and theres the pump.

if the car isn't turning over its not the fuel pump if it turns over and won't start it could be the fuel pump the best way to check to see if its your fuel pump is to take the gas cap and and have a friend turn the key on is you hear a humming noise from you gas tank its not your fuel pump
