Maybe you all can help me understand something. I am a proud owner of an 05 g35 coupe. Why the hell would someone put nissan emblems on an infiniti. Nissan is a common folk car, and infiniti is clean sweet ride. So why do people disgrace the Infiniti name by replacing it with the Nissan name. Its not a nissan people its an INFINITI.

Technically, it IS a Nissan. But, only because Infiniti is a subsidiary of Nissan. However, people only rebadge them as Nissan because they want to be jDm tYtE, yO!

IMHO, its like all of those ricers who put GTR or Type R on everything... But, that's just me...

No offense to anyone.

Even if you did rebadge your car. Pipe up I want to hear your opinions on this. Maybe we can get some Japanesse flag badges made up so u can put them on your car. If you wanted a nissan emblem on your car you should have probably bought a nissan. Just an opinion.

My brutally honest opinion is that you search the board first. How about that?

But for argument's sake, everywhere else in the world the car is branded as a Nissan Skyline 350GT.

Infiniti is primarily made for Americans, who like to have a seperate company name for luxury. Other places, including Japan, they don't have INFINITI, it is called a NISSAN SKYLINE.

Some people want their car to look like a tuner from Japan or whatnot. Plus it gives people a little unique style to their car.

This is my best explanation from what I can make sense of...

waste of money IMO

Now that Smockers has cleared that up, have you posted up any pics of your Nissan/Infiniti ??

Don't ya know we love the pics!!!

Oh, and I'm proud to be a 'common folk'.I've enjoyed owning the following Nissans.91 240SXSE w/hicus 01 Pathfinder 4x4 SE 5MT00 Maxima SE02 Maxima SE03 Pathfinder 4x4 LE

If I'm a 'common folk' for owning all of the above, I'm afraid to ask what I would be called for owning all of the FURDS/MUSTANGS I've owned in the past!!!

They made it Infiniti so people who cares more about their image than what the heritage of the car would buy it. hm.. Some people would have problem buying Nissan and even would have problem to see somebody doing it.

Buy the way I did not rebadge my car. Not because I feel it would be less in other people's eye. Because I love the look of Fuji more than the Nissan sign.

So show us your Nissan boy. LOL

i guess i will add my opinion since i have rebadged my car...the NISSAN Skyline has a proud racing history behind it and my G35 is my own personal race car so i like the fact the everywhere else in the world it's sold as a nissan skyline...and i also agree that some people just buy it because of the luxury status...mine is for fun....not for show...

this is what makes ME happy

I bought my "Infiniti" because of its ties to Japanese soil.

Where in Japan, it's a Nissan, I totally love the rebadged cars, I think if you do it, you have to get the steering wheel, seats, clock, etc. to match, no sense in half-badging.

But either way, I'm with SVT, who is to say that Nissan is for the common folk?... Nissan means "Made in Japan"... and I love em.

I hate to break this to you buddy - but all of the other parts on your car that have a name stamped on them - have the name NISSAN stamped on them. Go look at ur car - the infiniti badges are only on the outside - but all of your other parts ( like under the hood etc.) are either stamped Nissan or come in a nissan box. This is why I get my car serviced at the Nissan dealer (cheaper labor than infiniti - and the same nissan parts).

I think it's a form of personal expression and taste. If thats what someone wants to do and it ain't hurting anyone......let 'em. You don't like it, thats yer opinion.....someone else does....thats there opinion. No fault either way....agree to disagree.

infiniti is used in the good ol country of us of the a to make people "stand out" cant think of a better word right now, from the rest. its still the same car, now i guess it does work since people like you would not drive a nissan. only a infiniti. did you check your spark plugs or your filter what does it say on there???

in the us the acura tl is a honda accord in europe. now tell someone in the us that they spent 35k+++ on a honda accord they will think your crazy.

this has been discussed waay tooo many times on here, id look it up for you with all the comparisons that were posted about us models to europe or jp spec models, but i dont feel like searching for it, since you didnt feel like doing that before starting this thread either.

Oh the win potential was strong in this thread. I had such high hopes for another assault. Personally I like either the factory look or clean shaven. I am a true Skyline fan, and the R35/350GT isn't a true skyline. It was a global market car that would satisfy the largest number of consumers out of the same components. They just didn't want to kill off the name and there are tons of people who will buy something just for the name on it, regardless of what that name may be. Please for the love of all that is holy don't stop half way, I have wanted to post pics of the Gs I have seen with the Infiniti logo, with a 350GT on the left of the trunk and a G35 on the right side. A pox upon such blasphemy.

Infiniti (Acura,Lexus just for the sake of discussion) all use their standard brand in the global market. Infiniti and the others came about due to American demand to fill a market need for Japanese high line cars. The manufacturers all made new specialty luxury brands to offer a new product that proved successful and they are all now starting to separate the models and appeal to a different consumer base. That is the lineage that you are supporting when you purchase an Infiniti. I personally like the way that the Japanese high line added their touch to what was a German and American dominated market and actually have managed to produce some cars that can compete with the big boys.

North America was the test market for this highline separation, adding a few tweaks and different interior refinements coupled with a new higher quality of service and warranty that the market base demands. Seeing the success that these companies have had in this market they have started to start to expand to a more global a quick Google of their cooperate global sites shows they are expanding to markets that demand "western" products.

have you been hiding under a rock or something?

I do not agree with re badging, but understand the idea.I like the bling of the infiniti logo, but i know its a nissan, and thats why i bought the G. I know guys who have Acura TSX, and have rebaged to Euro Honda Accord logos. Or guys who have Acura RSX, and rebage to Honda Integra badges.

Its been done for a long time, and wil continue to be a form of expression.

In the old days, people used to re badge their cars all the time, putting badges on for something that was not under the hood .

but to change a Infiniti and change it to a Nissan, something is wrong with that one.
