Can someone please explain to me why the coupe is slower than the sedan...I dont understand why infiniti would make the coupe slower..I have a 03 automatic sedan and beat both a 03 and 05 automatic coupe on three different occasions...and have seen two g37's that have been beaten by a 2007 g35 both cars with automatic transmission....What hell is the incentive or bonus of having a coupe besides the looks I guess, if your car isn't faster. When I think coupe I think "sportier" demeanor....right? Why cant Infiniti get it right? The coupes need to go on a major diet (loose 200ibs) or needs more horsepower than the sedan. And i'm not bashing coupe owners, I just dont get why my sedan is faster than a coupe, or why the g37 is slower than the 2007 g35 sedan. Does this make anyone else as mad as it does me. I know I would be pissed if i was a coupe owner and my sedan counterpart was faster than me. Again, this isnt bashing coupe owners, just more or less a call to order to infiniti.

It is heavier due to the structure of the door frame. I beleive. They want to make it safe.

I don't know if it is faster. I would say it is a driver race. Whoever does better as a driver wins. It is for sure not true with the X. It is slow.

I think they are same on speed and a lot sexier. But there are pros and cons with both.

Absolutely. You also gotta remember that the coupe is a 2+2, not a 2 seater so its essentially the same as a sedan just longer doors. If it was a true 2 seater then I think it would be a different story.

I'd buy a coupe over the sedan anyday, so much hotter.

I wouldn't say 2+2 I would say 2 and 2x1/2

heheheh

headroom and legroom is not much. But again it's a coupe at least it got a backseat.

If it didn't have a backseat, I wouldn't have a G35...I agree with you on more differentiation between the sedan and coupe. It should be a much more powerful engine...or at least a "tuner" option (like AMG, or M).

It aggravates me as well owning the 07 Coupe. The coupe is supposed to be the "sporty" version, and should thus be quicker.

The G35 comes in two body styles, a sport coupe and a sport sedan. They are both "sporty." There is no fundamental reason the coupe should be faster, although styling wise it looks faster.

It's all a matter of power to weight. Mechanically, both styles are essentially the same.

When I hear sedan, I don't think "sports car" and while the Coupe technically isn't a sports car, it looks like one.If I were to hear "The Lambo comes in a 4 door version as well" I wouldn't expect it to out-perform the 2 door.

The coupe handles better thus at the racetrack it is "Faster"

it may not be fast in a straight line, but hey last time I checked I don't have a Mullet and drive a firebird...

You cant compare on 07 sedan with an 07 coupe because they are different models, the coupe being the older version. Now, compare an 03 sedan with an 03 coupe, then its a different story... the coupe having more power. The 2001-2002 V35 sedans (JDM only, 350-GT8, 8 speed CVT autos) had even less power than the 03 sedans.

I think the difference is so minimal that its not really even worth worrying about. Add a decent exhaust and your there.

Simply the fact that a heavier car needs more power to make it move with passengers. Ever drive a new minivan? Those things haul ***

I was talking about the comparisons in races between the g37 and the 2007 sedan. I know that the 2007 g35 sedan and 2007 g35 coupe would be an unfair comparison.

The 07 Sedan has a better motor... Enough said.

The real questions is, how can an Altima Coupe beat a G35 or how can a S2K beat a G35...

Well to answer your question about the altima and the sk2. All those cars are very very light, inspite of their lower, in most cases much lower, horsepower ratings. I honesty think, by giving the g37 30 more pounds of torque would solve the problem.

Well I can speak on the S2k....... I beat one with my G35 Sedan 6MT. I beat him from a 30mph start. and an 80mph start Until about 110 mph and about 135 mph... ON Private Property LOL

I beat him buy 2 cars length and 3 cars length from 80. I had 2 people in the car probably about 350 lbs total to just him in his car.. about 170 lbs

The 05 and newer 6mt sedans beat the S2k! And this was a 05 or newer s2k

All i have is a coupe mid pipe (that reduces weight in the sedans but the muffler in the coupes is about twice as heavy as the sedans.) and a k&n air intake!

I've said it before, I have an irrational hatred for Hondas, and specifically the S2000.So I really enjoy hearing stories of ANY car stomping one.

As for the G37, they REALLY need to lighten it up. It's far too porky for being a performance coupe. Get it's fat *** on Trimspa already!
